Day 7: 30 Days to Stop the Pipeline
Call Governor Cuomo now at 518-474-8390

Day 7

Today’s Topic: FERC’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the “Constitution” Pipeline was deemed insufficient by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Suggested Talking Points:

  •
  • In April 2014, the EPA concluded that the EIS for the “Constitution” Pipeline was “insufficient.”
  • Five other federal and state agencies commented that the information supplied for the project was “inadequate.”
  • FERC ignored all of these agencies’ requests for additional information.
  • The EPA also commented that the EIS for this pipeline project was in violation of federal environmental policy laws.
  • I am calling to ask Governor Cuomo to ask the DEC to deny the permits for this irresponsible, dangerous, toxic pipeline.

Each weekday, from now until May 11th, Stop the Pipeline will focus on a different reason why the Constitution Pipeline would be harmful to New York’s land, water, air and people.

YOUR phone calls are what helped us win a ban on fracking in New York. YOUR phone calls will help us stop the Constitution Pipeline, too.

A Quick Snapshot

This 30-inch-diameter, 124-mile-long high-pressure pipeline would carry fracked gas from Pennsylvania, through the forests, farms, fields and front yards of New York residents, and on to Canada for export.

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) can stop this Un-Constitutional Pipeline by DENYING the necessary permits.

How can you help?

Use the talking points in this email to tell Governor Cuomo and others why this project should be stopped.
