Day 11

30 Days to Stop the Pipeline

Call Governor Cuomo at 518-474-8390

Day 11

Today’s Topic: The “Constitution” Pipeline Company estimates that it would create seven permanent jobs in New York. This is outrageous.

Suggested Talking Points:

  • New York should not trade its citizens’ safety, health and property rights for seven jobs and a high-pressure, potentially explosive, fracked-gas pipeline.
  • The solar, wind and geothermal sectors stand to create many more permanent jobs—jobs that support safe, clean energy and safe, stable jobs.
  • New York needs to stop putting resources into dirty fossil fuels and immediately put people to work building alternative energy infrastructure.
  • If Governor Cuomo is truly concerned about climate change, as he claims to be, he will stop this dangerous project by urging the Department of Environmental Conservation to DENY the permits for the Constitution Pipeline.

Each weekday, from now until May 11th, Stop the Pipeline will focus on a different reason why the Constitution Pipeline would be harmful to New York’s land, water, air and people.

YOUR phone calls are what helped us win a ban on fracking in New York. YOUR phone calls will help us stop the Constitution Pipeline, too.

A Quick Snapshot

This 30-inch-diameter, 124-mile-long high-pressure pipeline would carry fracked gas from Pennsylvania, through the forests, farms, fields and front yards of New York residents, and on to Canada for export.

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) can stop this Un-Constitutional Pipeline by DENYING the necessary permits.

How can you help?
