Announcing…

30 Days to Stop the Pipeline: A phone call a day keeps the Constitution Pipeline away

We need YOU to call Governor Cuomo and other New York decision makers right now and tell them why they shouldn’t sacrifice the Catskills and Southern Tier to a fracked-gas pipeline.

Day 1

Topic: Constitution Pipeline would increase flooding and storm damage in the Southern Tier and northern Catskills.

Suggested Talking Points:

  • According to Governor Cuomo in his 2013 State of the State address, “There is a 100-year flood every two years now.”
  • “Constitution” Pipeline would destroy approximately 1,000 acres of forest in a region of New York that has experienced three 100-year floods and many other extreme rainfall events in the past eight years.
  • This permanent loss of trees will increase erosion and the velocity of runoff, putting at risk the lives and property of thousands of New York families.
  • Increased and repeated flood and storm damage would end up costing the state millions if not billions.
  • I urge the governor to tell the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to DENY the permits for Constitution Pipeline.

YOUR phone calls will help us stop the Constitution Pipeline, too.

A Quick Snapshot

This 30-inch-diameter, 124-mile-long high-pressure pipeline would carry fracked gas from Pennsylvania, through the forests, farms, fields and front yards of New York residents, and on to Canada for export.

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) can stop this Un-Constitutional Pipeline by DENYING the necessary permits.
